krl2ptO

Well krl2ptO might be wrapping up but this blog site won't be.
I go by the old saying 'if you don't use it, you'll lose it.'
So this door will remain open, tune in later for something more intreasting.

mY out take on Sites 4 Students

This part of krl2ptO by far has been my favoirte. All the sites/applications to take a tour on where all appleing. I choose Notely & ComindWork.

Notely- Actully, I don't have much to say on this. It's basically Microsoft Outlook with a spin to get the teens to use it. Go for teens that lose their day planners.

ComindWork- I liked it a great deal. This is a site is well writen, great infomation and is great for high school students to us old foggesy. From Project Management, Team Rolls, Project/Team Dashboards & more. This site inegrated Wiki, Trac, Jira, Basecamp, Clearquest, CentralDestop and MS Progject.
When I was in Highschool this would have been so awsome for DECA, but even now I can see how this can be use for me now & our lovely committes.

Testing the Twitter

Easy to create an account & use. A little nerve racking that it wants your friends email.
Yes I know it's all private but still...Of course I found the Library's account, or should I say Twitter found it for me.

This sight is in my top 3 of favorites of all of what we are learning.

Facebook..my..my..how quickly things change.

Seems like yesterday I was inturduced to a life of email.
Facebook, great if your young with time on your hands.

Ok, I guess I'm an old bitty. It's just that I see the horrors of what could be not the pluses.

As for reading the well writen artical 'Social Networking in Librarites' by Meredith Farkas. She made me understand the need for this old bitty to spread my bonderies on the web, but one site at at time, please.

Work more with Wikis...

Easy use as long as you follow instructions.
I added a quick note about my department.
I don't have much to say, so I'll just keep it short.

Wikis are more than wacky..

They are just plain weird, but in a good way.
Could be fun, but not sure at this point & time how it would be helpful in my postion.

You & U Tube

It's fun & cute. But how can you tell fact from fiction? Who has time?

If it's cuteness with Rock'n Roll you want try the following...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQQo0gfBHq0

That LibraryThing.com

Interesting, easy once you create the account.
I can see the plus to this & why people love but for me outside of work I won't use it.

Venturing out into the Flickr unknown...

Not so painful of an experience to sign up. Fairly easy, quick & painless. It's just a shame that these sights aren't defaulted to private settings. Some details/print can burn you in the end.

Over all I'm looking forward to posting pictures of my animals.

RSS

The learning process about and how to use the RSS is less painful than going to the dentist.
With out the links Cnet.com I would be completely lost.
I believe I'm on the right path, but stumbling over everything.
